Overview

Mold Remediation in New York, done right the first time

Mold remediation, also called mold removal, mold abatement, or mold damage restoration, only lasts if it is done right: kill the mold without fixing the water behind it and it comes right back. That is why every All Star mold job starts with finding the moisture source, not just the visible spot. We seal off the area, filter the air with HEPA, remove what is contaminated, correct the cause, and verify the space is clean before anything is rebuilt. We are IICRC-certified and hold a New York State mold remediation license, and we handle everything from a bathroom corner to toxic mold across a whole building, or an HPD violation. Know What You Are Dealing With

Common types of mold in New York homes

New York's humidity, aging buildings, and finished basements give mold plenty to work with, and a handful of species show up again and again in local homes. The most common are Penicillium, Aspergillus, Cladosporium, and Alternaria. You will typically find them in the damp, dark spots water reaches first: under sinks, behind drywall, inside wall cavities, around windows, and across basement ceilings and joists.

You do not need to identify the species yourself, and we would caution against trying. What matters is that any of them can spread quickly once there is a steady moisture source, and some people are sensitive to the spores, with allergy-like symptoms such as coughing, congestion, or headaches. If you are concerned about health effects, see a doctor. Our job is the mold itself: we find what is feeding it, remove it safely under containment, and confirm the air is clean before anything gets rebuilt.

My basement flooded from the last big rainstorm we had in Brooklyn. I called All Star Restoration and from initial contact till after the work was performed, it has been exceptional. Nevo and his team fully delivered and made sure my basement was fully dry to prevent any mold growth. Couldn't be more thankful!

We had a frozen pipe burst in our Brooklyn home and ended up with about a foot of water in the basement. Nevo was professional, responsive, and really knew what he was doing. He handled the water removal, removed all the damaged materials, and made sure everything was completely dried so we would not have any future problems.

A pipe burst in our second floor bathroom and flooded our Brooklyn home. Nevo came out, explained everything, and got his team started right away. They placed all the proper drying equipment throughout the house and worked directly with insurance, which took a huge weight off our shoulders.
